Seems kinda hard to sell any more NGC coins when all coins bearing any NGC Marks had to be turned over.

I'm still curious about what happened to all his sales history on ebay. Under 3c pretty much everything he ever did on ebay was required to be turned over to NGC. I can't even find what @Jack D. Young posted, so a direct link to that would be helpful. Perhaps ebay decided to hide it all from the public since it's so embarrassing. Actually deleting it all would seem to be rather illegal.

Those slab images indicate that it wasn't exactly a gentle approach to cracking them open, but good enough to fool somebody I guess.

The complaint says some smelled like smoke indicating they might have tried heating the slab to reseal it.

Yes, these are the images I saw.

Do you think it was sonically welded? Or just glued? I can see some chips in the plastic from when it was opened, but I don't know exactly how it was re-closed.

Not that it matters. A con is a con no matter the method.

In my experience, when eBay acknowledges a complaint about a fake coin, they scrub all evidence of the transaction from customer-facing search results. We've all seen the orange hoodie of shame, but I think the auction gets removed from the seller's history.

Actually, not all evidence -- feedback still stands, or at least it did the last time I filed a complaint. That was several years ago.

I'm not that familiar with the ins and outs of ebay I guess. I didn't think sold items, especially from months ago, would disappear.

I just had one go puff...

I was suspicious of the seller's listings and reported my concerns; seller sold some high priced items but now all go full orange hoodie when you click on them. His profile shows no feedbacks, etc and just get this now:

some people are just plain stupid ! I realize that some coins to not have pics but
most do, so trying to pull this scam makes no sense as the verification process
    is so easy..LOL

Ebay and Paypal are masters of avoiding retribution in "class ac
I just tried to post facts about "class action" law suits in the past for the leading violators, and multiple times my post was deleted.

I've been taken for a large sum on Ebay where all evidence was removed about the class action, a token was paid to class attorneys, even internet files were scrubbed about the past actions, and retribution wasn't effected.

Check the internet search files yourself!

I disagree with your understanding of the verification process!

When all proof of an illegal action is scrubbed from the records, there was NO ACTION.

    Only positive records remain!

I know cost is relative, but spending a few thousand on something that allows you to make tens of thousands is nothing.

Exactly. That's why a fake 1921 Morgan dollar is probably not silver, but a decent fake 1792 half disme is...

that POTENTIALLY allows you to make tens of thousands.

Thank you both for not saying "earn tens of thousands".

Anybody got pics of a properly-sealed sonic TPG holder and one just "glued" back ?

Might be useful to see them side-by-side.

As previously explained, I know how to properly shear the
interface between the 2 halves of the slab, so that the halves are virtually as they were originally.

The difference is that material has been displaced sideways by the sonic sealing process, increasing the joint width, and to facilitate a new joint the 2 halves need to be aligned as separated, with a minute clear filler.

I've placed the halves together to view the sonicly diminished height seam, but never considered the illegal assembly with a replacement coin.

I've reconstructed broken members before with cyanoacrylate, as vision glasses where the screws commonly fall out, and the microscopic seam is virtually indetectable when properly aligned!

It takes patience, but we generally all have old vision glass frames, try it yourself sometime with a vice-grip pliers, and a small drop of clear adhesive placed at the screw hole, between the eye glass holder ends!

Once the adhesive has hardened, if the glasses are placed looking towards the ceiling on a support surface, if a small amount of adhesive is applied with a foam brush to the now vertical facing frame end, the seam should be very intact.

If you accidently get any adhesive between your finger and thumb and the two surfaces are somehow sqeezed, you may experience the adhesive holding effect!
