The payment was not necessarily all upfront in cash, there was also deals for the officials to get free grading, and I would assume NGC sweetened of their bid by allowing ANA members submit without having to join the NGC membership. The ANA didn&#039;t care who became the official service, they even solicited bids from Accugrade and several of the other fourth tier grading services. But those lesser services couldn&#039;t match the financial bids of the top two.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Actually I would imagine PCGS submitted a very generous bid.
