I believe in slabbing high end coins, it's just a personal preference of mine. As a collector of more modern coins, 19th, 20th, and 21st Century I have an inherent fear of hurting coins by handling them without them being in some kind of container, I've seen to many coins with finger prints and scratches to overcome this fear. Each collector has their own way of collecting coins, there are no set rules, and mine is to send high end coins to TPG, I can still see them and enjoy them and don't have the worry of harming them. Different strokes for different folks.

Somehow my tread on the counterfeit '55 DD got changed into a discussion on ancients and my Athena Owl. my fault, I'm the one who posted about it and posted the pictures. By sending the '55 DD to TPG I learned that a coin I had for years was not genuine. A tough thing to find out, but better that I know than some heir trying to sell it and becoming disappointed. It's going into my coin clubs collection of counterfeit coins and may benefit some future collector to look at a coin a little more closely and maybe do a little more research , although as I mentioned quite a few people, including long time dealers, thought it was genuine.[/QUOTE]
