We found four possible markers, but counterfeiters tend to &quot;circulate&quot; their fakes to give them a better chance of getting them accepted: the nick at 3 o&#039;clock, scratched behind Lincoln&#039;s ear, the long scratch down his shoulder, and the closeness to the rim of the &quot;L&quot; in Liberty.
