Way to go Badness.. you took down RLM ! This batch came from a nice book I picked up on the 'bay years ago and a few varieties from hunting rolls over the years. I'll give you the NGC pops where a coin derserves it,, assuming I'm reading the pop. report correctly. 1938D - 63BN. Really thought this one would do better.. it's details and lack of any hits is notable. Reverse book toning is wonderful..Guess they don't like a bit of dirt stain ; ) Badthad nailed this one. 1941 - 66RB. Nice coin and rev toning. 1 of 6 NGC has at 66, only 3 in 67 in RB. Shoe nailed this one. 1944 - 66RB. As above. 1 of 4 NGC has at 66, only 3 in 67 in RB. Shoe nailed this one. 1951S - 65RD. 66+ details, 65 luster. dangit. NGC has a metric ton of these with equal amounts in higher RD grades. Everyone missed by 1. 1930 - el' bag'ola. 1942D - DD FS-502 - AU58 BN, picked from roll. Looks like the only one NGC has slabbed to date. Am I reading that correctly ? RLM came the closest, Badthad missed by 5. 1972 - DDO FS102 - AU58 BN, picked from roll. NGC has a total of 5 of these in BN, this being the poorest in BN grade. RLM nailed it. 1981 - 66RB - Sweetly toned with booming luster. NGC top pop 1 of 1 in RB. Again, assuming I'm reading the NGC pop. chart correctly this is the second one I've put in that came back as 1 of 1 top pop in RB.. the other being the 95 RB. My guess is no one else cared to toss the grading fee on the common date, and likely readily available grade in raw examples... buy maybe not !! Badthad came the closest. 1994 - DDR FS-801 - AU55 RB, picked from roll. NGC has only graded 6 of these total, across all colors bn,rb,and rd. Is it really that rare, or just not many folks care to slab this variety ? Badthad nailed this one. 1944D Jeff - 66. Thought this one could go 67, but nope. Nice coin, again, almost no notable hits anywhere, but I guess didn't have enough dang luster. Badthad nailed this one.
