Check this out guys, these things are rare as hens teeth. If you're a slab collector this one is so clean and drool worthy! Wish I could find a morgan one if I had the budget right now though I'd Definatly be going after this one. Beautiful!... And you guys know I'm not an ngc guy per se Guesses on final bid price??? http://www.greatcollections.com/Coi...Dollar-NGC-MS-65-Vintage-Black-NGC-Old-Holder
Wow and there are 6 days left, looks like someone wants that holder really bad. Who ever sent it in had at least 23 of those holders. I wonder if they still have them?
Yea, if I ever find one of these, no matter how nice the coin is, I'll be selling it.... That's just ridiculous
I bet that walker would upgrade if you cracked it out... Just kidding... That's a sweet holder!! I'd never pay for it, but if I found one at a garage sale or some old antique store, I'd certainly pick it up.
Looks like two bidders (9 & 10) put in nuclear bids (2500 & 2600+) on my birthday and now (10 days later) they've both put in one more manual bid. Still w/ over 6 days to go... It will be interesting to watch for snipes...
According to this there are only supposed to be about 25 first generation NGC holders remaining: https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/4573/Why-Are-Old-Holder-NGC-Coins-In-Such-Demand/ Still a pretty steep price in my eyes though. Holder and price aside however, it is quite a nice coin.
@Cascade and others: What will sell for more, the NGC Black Holder on GC or the sample Regency holder on eBay? http://m.ebay.com/itm/1879-S-Morgan...Collection-RARE-SLAB-/331967545879?nav=SEARCH I'll guess the Regency Sample. I'd love to own both, but will unfortunately have to sit both of these out.
Oh man. And a Morgan too! I'm not too hip on regency samples but I tend to think any ngc black would surpass even a sample regency. This is gonna be like an episode of MTV's Celebrity Deathmatch!
You guys didn't even notice, (and the high bidder probably doesn't even care) inside of that regency slab, that Morgan is a rare bird, with the reverse of '78.(un-attributed) I've only cherry picked 1 of these and I, to this day, wish it could of been a mint state specimen... seriously though, really adds to the cool factor of the pcgs slab!!!
Look closer. Its a rev of 79. That's where my eye goes first on all 79s's of coarse. Pics in the description are better
...I do not believe for one second that dude from GC didn't already send that into CAC before the auction started...I say that there is very little to no chance that that coin hasn't already been to Jersey and back. That's all
Oops, the photos in the description are much clearer on my phone. I swear those breast feathers still look, sort of concave, even though I see the SAF
Who cares about a cac sticker on that slab. I'd bet there's a good chance it hasn't. That'd be like sending a Kardashian to a Ross for a pair of shoes
