So I recently purchased a 1955 MS67 RD Lincoln Cent with the following pictures. I'm fairly certain that it is a proof but on the NGC website and on the table it says MS67 RD. Just want to be one hundred percent sure before I try and get a return. https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/2351309-002/
It sure looks like a proof to me. I assume you paid MS money? I'd return it and advise the seller that it is a mislabeled PF67.
I had the exact same thing happen to me 4 years ago (1955 MS67 that was proof). It later showed up on eBay and I warned the seller, but I don't know how it ended. I cannot find the certification number, so I cannot say this is the same coin, but it would not surprise me.
I found the pictures of mine, but I cannot see the number. I cannot tell for sure, but my guess is it is the same coin. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/is-this-proof-or-mint-state.213022/#post-1525451
@MNcoinman Typographical errors (also called mechanical errors) do happen from time to time. You might want to give NGC a call to verify it and see what other options you have. 800-642-2646 Chris
