Hey guys, I recently bought a NGC 1878 8 tail feather morgan dollar. Its very nice MS 62. I started looking at closeluy again last week & noticed some small die breaks & "marks". I started to research in to the possibility of a VAM variety coin. Im 99% sure its a VAM 1-spear point VAM. Its has all the marks that is described on the VAM World website.

Now to my questions, I have several. Why was this VAM not "noted" on the NGC case? Is a VAM variety a service that requires a extra fee or a special request when submitted? Do grading services always look for VAM variety on morgans? With this VAM, is this coin worth re-submitting to NGC/PCGS for the additional text added to increse the value?

Thanks so very much for any insight you may have to answer my questions here. I tried to get pictures on the coin, but could not get enough detail to show the VAM "features". Im new to the VAM variety & find it quite interesting. THANKS
