Here is a couple of recent pickups just before Thanksgiving. All were bought at scrap prices. 1964 Clipped Planchet Kennedy Half. A first find for me. An XF/AU Franklin Half that I just could not throw back at melt, not with color. And finally a 1926-S Mercury Dime. It's overall probably a VG-8. The reverse is holding it back from a full VG-10. This is the fifth one of these that I have picked up from the same dealer. I now know they are not checking for this semi-key date. I have yet to not find one in his box of 90%.
The clipped Kennedy is a perfect learning tool, as clean an example of clip and Blakesley Effect as you'll see.
I saw the Frankie right away and new he had to come home with me. I surprised when I came across the clipped Kennedy. That was another no brainer.
