Just picked this coin up at a recent Bowers & Merena auction -
it was a coin I saw at DLRC some time ago and when I went
to make an offer on it - the coin was marked sold.

I'll post the DLRC images next.

Here are the images from B&M:

That's what I like... an error you don't need a 10X loupe to see!

One question to ya' Elbesaar, who (if anybody) graded it?

Thanks - I wish I had made a notation about what DLRC wanted for that coin. When I sent them an email today about what the original price was - my reply received was that the coin was out on consignment to another collector. I shot back a quick retort - and asked what the original sale price was - and have not heard back. I did mention that I had won the coin and was wondering if : {1} I got a Steal - {2} I got a Fair Deal -
{3} I was O.C.'d [overcharged]. Have not heard back.

It took almost a week for B&M to send out an electronic invoice and I look forward to the coin's receipt.

The year - 1921 - holds a special meaning to me - it was my Mom's birth year. My Dad's was 1917 - and I picked up an interesting Lincoln Cent of that date as well.

The images are on another PC - and I'll post them later.

Wow, B&W's photos are much better... I bet the sale price from DLRC might be less than what you paid, with those pics.

I really like that magenta toning, I'd give it a *.

elbesaar, i like getting years that have meaning to me also. i got a 1930 lincoln cent, that was beautifully toned. i got it on the exact birthday of my great aunt who was born in 1930. i often do this, wonder if most others do as well...

    That is a cool coin.
    I have a question though.
In the 1st set of photos the cud on the left wheat looks like the kernels are still on the coin , but on the newest photos it looks like they were removed ?

Nice pick-up, Mike! My Mom was born in 1921 as well.

Tiny pic's don't show the details.

BTW - the coin arrived today - and its MUCH nicer in hand.
What the images don't capture is the glassy surfaces and the
    intense luster.

    I'm very pleased with it.
