Newest member of my wee tribe. Just thought I would see what the verticle pictures would look like. And of course they show perfect in the preview of the post. And as always my pictures tend to not show all the luster on this puppy - well that and some smudges on the slab.
That's a nice looking IHC, any idea on the grade?? The only spot that i see lacking boldness is the diamond pattern, but that could only be because of the picture.. Either way a very nice coin, thank you for sharing it..
Thanks - PCGS 65. And there is more detail in the feathers than the pictures show and yes the diamonds(middle 2) are weak, but present. I am gonna try later to get some better pictures.
Mark, that's a very pretty better date Indian penny, and it has good color and luster - very nice addition!
Hi Mark. Nice Indian cent. Do you know what the designation is on your coin? RD, RB, or BN? Thanks and congrats. Tony.
Nice color, and congratulations on your purchase/acquisition. Some people have mentioned the lack of bold diamonds as the only "set back" (I use the term loosely - it truly is an outstanding coin), bringing several questions to mind. What dates carry premiums with full diamonds? I have an 1879 IHC in NGC MS65 RD with full diamonds...Is this worth a premium? Also, do the "Eagle Eye" stickers add anything to collectors? Sorry for the large number of questions, but I'm relatively new to the series.
Well strong strikes are always nicer than weak strikes and can carry premiums. You can read about the http://www.indiancent.com/photoseal.php Eagle Eye sticker here. The one date that stands out in my mind is 1909 and 1909-S - almost always the feather tips are incomplete.
