NGC doesn't guarantee that their graded coins are authentic. But those pieces look fine to me, you'll need more opinions (not Steve's :D).

All I'm trying to say is => nobody here has any more confidence in your coins just because they're in those ridiculous plastic cases ...

probably quite the opposite ... you should

    a) watch and learn/listen
    b) ask the right questions
    c) ask "before" you buy
    d) buy from known sellers
    e) get a guarantee
    f) post 'em here for reassurance
    g) thank your awesome seller

    jwitten => I like you

I'm just tired ... I'm sure your coins are cool (you probably are too, my friend)

    :penguin:

=> I just hate slabs (and I think you're among friends => we can de-slab you)

    Nice Gorgon.

Btw what do you think about the Sheldon scale for "modern" slabbed coins? Coins being given a mark out of 70? And the difference between an MS69 and an MS70 could be hundreds or thousands of dollars? I think it's a crazy system if you ask me. A form of OCD.

Sorry I'm off-topic, let's get back to talking ancients!

I am OK with it. I could not afford the top gold Indians, but like them being graded that way.

I've been here awhile, so have heard the anti-slab arguments many times, but if I were new to ancients, I'd welcome the opportunity to hear these opinions anyway, however zealous they may seem. Personally, I don't have any slabbed ancients, enjoy handling my coins, and agree that handling them brings an added dimension of knowledge and tactile appreciation. Ultimately, though... your coins, your hobby... keep them in their slabs if you like. Your Tabae hemidrachm and Alexander drachm are very nice!

Yes!!!! Ever since we all attended Steve's 'sensitivity seminar' they can now sit at the 'cool kids' table.:D

Excellent 'acquisitions' 'J'---most better than any comparables I have.

And 'PLUS ONE' to infinity on 'Z's post!!!!
