I&#039;d recommend that you purchase one of the books like <b><i>ANA Grading Standards for United States Coins</i></b> to guide you. You should also have some idea about the value of the coin and whether it is worth submitting for grading or not. There are a lot of common-date Morgans which wouldn&#039;t be worthwhile to submit unless they will grade MS64 or higher.</p><p><br /></p><p>I don&#039;t recommend submitting to a grading service just because they are cheaper. The coins that end up in these slabs are usually overgraded, and they don&#039;t command the value like those coins that are graded by the top tier grading services, NGC and PCGS.
