They're hard plastic with a black interior that holds the coin , and also neutralizes the harmful gasses that cause toning . The link to check them out is in the next thread . rzage:smile

I agree that the Lucent product is probably the best for individuals in climate where the humidity is normally above the 60% mentioned in the report as the corrosion activation level. As Just Carl mentioned, a dehumidifier is most likely the first line of defense. The intercept album product is an excellent choice if you need an album for long storage. I would personally skip the expensive individual coin holders, and instead I utilize the boxes Intercept produces that have the protection. The PCGS type box is excellent as it holds slabs as well as flips, 2x2, etc. http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/product/intercept-shield-pcgsngc-track-box.html and for the hundreds of coins you have in flips or 2x2, use this product http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/product/intercept-shield-double-row-red-box.html Both of the box types are inexpensive enough compared to non-intercept, they should be used "just in case". 2x2 w/ Mylar windows has proven long term performance Stapled 2x2 cardboard holders with Mylar windows have provided proven long term performance for my lower cost coins. I have several coins stored in them since the late 1960s with no adverse affects. By using 2x2s you can continuously organize your collection as it grows. You can get plastic 20 pocket pages for 3-ring binders and 12 pocket pages for Dansco albums. This works well for me personally because I don't live in a humid state and can keep my coins in a secure cool dry place. Avoid storage in any location that might have large temperature fluctuations like near an outside wall or attic. You might think that storage in a bank vault is free from contamination but you never know what they use to clean the floor & walls which might eventually creep into your coins. If you cannot provide your coins with a secure cool dry place, then put them in ultrasonically sealed slabs or use Airtites & Intercept Shields as required. Good luck & happy collecting. -collect89
Intercept slip-cases to fit Dansco albums? It would be nice if Intercept Shield made slip-cases that fit the Dansco books. Perhaps Jim could suggest it to them. The Intercept Shield boxes are a great & convenient product for housing 2x2s. Very best regards collect89
I see Joey2Long posted here He ripped me off on Ebay. His ID is Joey2Long2 so don't buy anything from him. He's got a scam going where he won't post for a year or more then list items and rip people off. Then when his Ebay ID clears back at 100% he does it again.
