As for as I know, no one else has done that, so...not so lame. Hey, if you take your name Donna and drop one n you get Dona which means Lady in Spanish. Now that's El Lamo !
Getting taken on a coin is being gullible. Getting taken on the same coin by the same person more than once is straight up stupid. Do you see the difference?
Well only obsolete if you weren't a collector for the last 4 to 5 decades! There maybe more terms or explanations that may seem different over your introduction to coin collecting. Research, reading, and asking questions will be your best road taken into enjoying this hobby. You'll learn fast Who is well versed....and who isnt.! Enjoy the hobby..... appreaciate the passion.
Not so lame. And it's also a fact. In Spain, Mexico and possibly Italy Dona is a preface for Lady and now Im wondering why I didn't try that spelling when I picked my name for this forum, when "Donna" was already taken. Now THAT'S Lame. Haha. (dnna) ugh. Not even a word. Let alone a name.
This is what I have coming from Ebay. In remembrance of my Dad. I paid 9.75. I can't wait until it gets here.
Thanks for that link. It really was a good site. I enjoyed reading around in there I'm visiting my sister in Vegas and shes like "what's your deal? You've been looking up coins and taking about coins and buying coins since you got here" haha. I think I just may have found a hobby. It only took me my whole life to find something that interests me. I even asked her to let me know next time Vegas has a Coin Show. Then an eyeroll and conversation over.
That's cool. It's good to have a hobby. It will keep you busy and out of trouble. What does your husband think about your new hobby? Does it keep you from aggravating him?
Haha. Yes indeed. He gets to watch Football in peace finally. For a while he cracked open a bunch of rolls of pennies after I told him about the 1943 Copper Penny. Then I said "hey, when your done maybe you could go look for Sasquatch. Lol. Seriously though he thinks it's cool that I'm getting into it. And aggravating him less.
Ditto, ditto, ditto...I keep my ebay favorite sellers section filled to the limit that ebay allows. There are several sellers who are members here, two of which have given me assistance in purchases from competing sellers, even if they have the exact coin in their own stock. Remember, though, that some sellers with very high positive feedback numbers are selling a lot of junk.
In years gone by, BU meant "Brilliant Uncirculated", which tries to describe a coin as what it is "NOT". Even more ridiculous is "AU" (for "About Uncirculated"), which tries to describe a coin as what it is "ALMOST NOT". A better term for "Uncirculated" is MS (for "Mint State"), which means "as it left the Mint".
