New Wrinkle

  1. Thanks to the onliners about my 72 DDO Lincoln cent. - It does look like the 003 type. Now I have 1962 Jefferson nickel, which research says can have a DDR series. Both the obverse and the reverse have tremendous "Wrinkles" around the letters and numbers. I know of machine doubling which leaves a shelve like shadow around the letters etc. but these have lots of radiating lines. Also the top of the dome and the bottom of the building have three distinct layers. the portrait also has some doubling. , I found some info on "Double strikes" which said some people incorrectly think it is a doubled die mark. Was just wanting input. -

Yeah, what are those "radiating lines" around the legends and date?

    That's interesting.
