paddyman98 ----> "And you always assume (on many of your posts) it's not or can't be PMD Both took circulation hits. It's not listed anywhere as a Variety." paddyman98-----> "Nope. It's all explained there. I shared the information just like I've been doing for over 10 years on CoinTalk. Never had a problem with anyone else when I've done so. Congratulations.. you're the first " I found another 1949 S similar to mine.....with "damage". Are you familiar with 'projection' paddyman98? You should report this "damage" to the coppercoins.com and let them know your assessment.
I'm not interested. You report it Let's see full pictures of all 3 coins! We would like to see if there is evidence of Die Deterioration. That's why we ask BTW.. the 3rd find looks nothing like the 1st or 2nd Cent IMHO
Coppercoins.com has the one from my last post. It's the James Bond version of 1949 S -----> 1949S-1MM-007 You need to report the damage you see to them. You see the damage , I don't.
Here let me help you.. I see what you are talking about. They show the die markers on this page. https://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1949&die_id=1949s1mm007&die_state=mds Now if you can show your coins we can match the markers. Show the Oberse and the Reverse please. Of all 3 Cents.
I'll post them once you point out the "damage" you see on all 3 coins. You are the authority. So many here trust your judgement. I'm looking forward to seeing it. I'm afraid I don't have your well trained eye.
Note the indent to the rim is even more pronounced in the screenshot of coppercoins 1949S-1MM-007 above.
I went to Coppercoins.COM and went to the coin you showed which seemed to have been cropped a little different and showed the Coppercoin site added this "A large gouge under the N of IN. Strong N-S die scratches through ERTY of LIBERTY. Strong die scratches run SSE from the TRU of TRUST. Reverse is MDS " They did name the mm. but nothing good to say about the area you mentioned. Jim
I agree. It’s silly not wanting to show whole coins. @Pennywise4040 Take one for the team. Was fun while it lasted
Pennywise just posted a third specimen. 1949 S spiked N with another error | Coin Talk I think it is a filled die.
