It looks like a misaligned die. It's very easy to confirm this if the reverse is centered properly. The misalignment is so minor that it is only worth a premium to a bidiot. Chris
thanks for the reply, yes the reverse is centered. don't know what a bidiot is, but I might be able to put 2 and 2 together. lol. thank you, I will keep this little guy, for fun, and add him 2 my little collection I have going on now.
"Fairly common" is a pretty accurate way to describe it. The point at which they add value is when edge lettering starts to be infringed.
Thanks guys! Also I don't know if I need to start a new thread or post pictures on here? But maybe you all can help me out with 4 other coins I have. It's a long story, but I got 4 JFK half dollars from a casino in Vegas (lol) and I know nothing of them, they are all different dates, and all in different conditions. Maybe you all can help!
Make that a new thread, with an appropriate title, so you'll attract people who know Kennedys. But be aware, coins which have been in the slot machine system wear in weird and seemingly-illogical ways, and what might seem completely off the wall to you might be easily explainable in context. I lived in Atlantic City from 1995-2015 and saw a_whole_bunch of that.
If you got them in a casino, they were used in slot machines and some table games. Because of that, they are probably well worn and beaten up, and carry no numismatic value. You should start a new thread for these and include photos.
