I suppose Steve was joking (it is not always obvious) but I wonder if some of us would benefit from paying an expert (probably not quite David Sear level but there are dealers whose opinions I would value) to drop by our place and look at all our coins with the task of pointing out the ones that might need a higher level opinion and the ones that we should stop worrying about. I have no idea who would do this and how much would be fair to pay them. Obviously this would not be something for a collector with 100 $50 coins and would be done free by someone like Bruce McNall for the Hunt brothers just on the theory that they might buy a few thousand worth of things he happened to have in his pocket.

When you buy a new computer at Costco, they include a number for a nice English speaking tech person to hold you hand setting up and transferring things. HP offers a service with monthly charge where a complete idiot can talk to a 'Smart Friend'. In coins this needs to be in person, perhaps from a local coin club. I hope no one will be kidnapping David Sear anytime soon or we are all going to be in trouble just because we know where Manitoba is located.
