Last week I went down a rabbit hole of exploring the websites of some foreign mints and I made a few impulsive purchases. Here's two from the Paris Mint that have American themes. The first is from a series that began in 2020 to reproduce medals from the American Revolution. This one commemorates George Washington arriving at Boston in 1776. Less impressive but still neat is a 2024 1/4 euro that commemorates D-Day. There is a different coin for four different nations that participated in the landings. I purchased the Omaha Beach coin commemorating the American landing. I'm torn because it's in a package that is kind of nice and you can't remove it without destroying it, but I can't get a good picture through the package and coins in packages inevitably get put in a box where I forget about them. But for now I'll leave it alone.
These are nice looking coins, especially the D-day Omaha Beach coin. I have never seen any of these before.
Here is the other one I ordered, which came today. 2024 20 euro commemorating the Battle of Cowpens in 1781.
