What irks me when driving here are the slow drivers who think that once they reach an area with a passing lane they should increase their speed by 10-15 mph so that when the passing lane ends they can slow back down.
In Cali they have a block traffic law, 5 folks and you get a ticket. I have seen it happen a few times. I went by a driver that was picking her nose and trying to pop a Zit on her neck today. Just blocking the road. I passed her on the right just trying to get the hell away from her, and she road raged me. I didn't even tailgate her in the process.
It's useless to give them any credit. Just pick a lane and move on. Don't look even look at them. Treat them like you don't have a care in the world.
It is mostly older drivers and foreign folks. My father grew up with cars in the thirty's. He owned everything from Fords to an Auburn Boat tail Speedster! He was the best driver I ever knew. One time in an undergrown parking garage, I was taking three back-and-forth moves to park his '61Corvette between the two concrete pillars marking our space. He made me get out, backed the car up about ten feet, gunned the engine and made the turn into the space without hitting the pillars or the wall! I never tried it. I tell this story because as he got old, he always drove in the left at the speed limit holding up traffic. I think it was his eyesight. It was very embarrassing to be passed on the right by everyone honking their horns.
Don't get me started on these drivers in Virginia Beach. They're either incredibly slow and drive in their own bubble world or super aggressive with no cognitive traffic pattern recognition. Thank God my Challenger - still with California plates - has the power to dance around both, but boy can it be annoying!
