LOL, so no solidus for me this Christmas? It's alright, I'll still get you that nasty parthian if I end up as your secret santa.

    "Nasty Parthian coins"?
    "Nasty Parthian coins"?!!!!!!!
Why, I'll show you a nasty Parthian coin!

    Mithradates I (c. 171- 138 BC). AE octachalkoi (30mm). Reverse: elephant. Sellwood 12.8, Shore 32.

Heavily worn, pitted, scrapes from harsh cleaning, multiple flan cracks, and traces of verdigris on the edge- truly a nasty Parthian coin. But, it's a rare early bronze, at 30mm it's the largest bronze the Parthians ever made, and did I mention it's rare?

... nice coin, Parthicus (I love the elephant ... or is it an ant-eater?)

Sorry but Secret Santas are all random. Everyone has to face the wheel.

I see how things are. I'll just misplace a hundred Mexican pesos on top of your wheel, and if it happens to randomly land on Panzerman as my secret Santa (he buys nothing but nice gold coins) I may just find a way to misplace another hundred pesos.

Uh huh. Spoken like a true lawyer, lol. You don't think I know a hundred Mexican pesos = $5.19?

Okay sure, maybe I don't have any examples of Mithridates of Parthia ...

=> ummm, but here are a few of my Mithridates of Pontos examples (do my Pontos kids get to play with your Parthian kids?)

Bury the ol' hatchet? ... or does the hatchet get buried in my head?
