I was going through my Jeffersons last night.
    Examining them , I discovered 5 of them had 5 full steps, 3 had 4 steps, 7 coins were below 1960, the earliest being 1941 and 1942 P over dome, and I found a 1969 S

That 1942P is a silver nickel. 35% silver to be exact.

One piece of advice. My eyes aren't that great and a lot of my Jeffersons used to look ok to me.

Then one day, I put a 10x loupe to them. Ouch! Many of them were pock-marked and had lots of nicks and scratches (especially on the obverse). It's one thing to fill holes, but don't stop there. Keep looking and comparing, you're likely to find a better one.

Finally, Full Steps and MS-quality don't always go together for me. I have some Full Steps that are quite ugly on the front and others that have spendid obverses, but the steps are hacked to death.

Just another factor to consider when collecting these nickels!

    Good luck.

Good point. I have to remind myself to look for upgraes, rather than just filling those holes.
