    Hi, i recieved four dollars in half dollars yesterday from my bank and to my surprise i found a new variety. Its a D over S, the D looks inverted over a large S. Its an easy spot, the tail is sticking through the top of the D. It looks like the 1946 s over d omm 1 the stronger of the two. I need to know where to send it to have it properly attributed, im sure its new and ive been collecting 20+ years, and have recently found alot of new varieties and errors on half dollars and Lincoln cents including a sweet 1955 doubled die. Ive been lucky enough to recieve a large portion of an old collection of coins dating back 85 years. I will include a picture when i get time. Its a cant miss thing, also i do believe it is struck on a silver planchet.

    Gonna need good pictures to go with that claim. There are currently no 1976-D RPMs listed and no D/S for the entire series.

    Nothing to be found, a claim built on wishful thinking, nothing more.

    I'll believe it when I see it, and I don't mean some blurry image that looks like a snow storm. ~ Chris

    PS. Let's see the 1955 DDO, too!

    Oldhoopster It seemed like a good idea at the time.

    @coincrazed2 .

    If you want to want to have it authenticated, go with any of the Top 4 TPGs, PCGS, NGC, ANACS, or ICG. Make sure you request having the variety attributed when you fill out the forms, or they may just grade it. Variety attribution costs more, so figure paying in the neighborhood of $50-70.

    You also need to realize that you're making some exceptional claims. A D/S but on a 40% planchet would be significant find. That's why you need to publish a clear, cropped picture. There have been a number of new members trolling this board with unbelievable finds, yet somehow never managing to post a good pic. Until you do, expect to see a great deal of skepticism. REmember, unsubstantiated claims don't mean jack

    There are a number of error coin experts including some of the industry leaders who are members here. If you have something, they will let you know. But the is an extremely high probability that your coin is not what you think. Either way, you'll get an honest answer.

    BTW, if you are just trying to troll the board, just give it up now. You'll quickly end up on ignore lists
