GDJMSP: I didn't mean a link or email or things like that. Only ment listing the name of the organization. Makes no difference I guess but I thought just a name does not incicate self-promotion if a person is only an employee and has nothing to gain from stating where they work. For example if a person worked for their Electric Company, stating the name of that place would not be self-promoting. May get them in trouble with thier boss though. Just a thought.
I understand Carl, and if everybody were honest and trustworthy that would never be a problem. Unfortunately, everybody is not. What you and most of the other members never see because the Mods delete the stuff is the plethora of self-promotion posts that are made. And believe me they try to use every trick in the book to get around the rules. They have no interest in being a member here, they only want free advertising. And more than few of them think that by posting links here on Coin Talk that they will be trusted and thus able to use their scams on CT members and rip even more people off than they do already. That's why the rules are what the are and why we are so strict about it. We do it to protect you guys. But if someone wants to be a contributing member, if they wish to share knowledge and join in discussions, then we give them the benefit of the doubt and we also provide them a place where they can advertise for free - the Open Forum. Those are the rules and they will not change. I just thought you might appreciate an explanation.
WOW. I never even thought of that. I suppose knowing people that I should have thought of those things you mentioned. Good thing we have people like you to get rid of the junk stuff.
Congratulations and best wishes for a long career. When you do what you love, it's not work. I checked out a few pages of the website of your new employer as well. Maybe we can get you to come to one of the shows around here...
BTW, here's the link to his post in the open forum.... just to save everyone a few clicks. http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=28261 Congrats on the new job!
