First, thanks for the quick responses to my first post.

Second question. Since I started this new hobby/investment strategy I figured I would head to eBay and get some deals. I am looking mainly at 1oz silver bars/coins to start (figure dip my toes before hitting the hard stuff). That said I am amazed at what stuff sells for on eBay. I know the scale is not right as an investment play, but even with shipping costs it looks like there is at least a $1 premium (arbitrage/risk free return) on like items you can get from some of the online dealers. What gives? I would figure anybody who uses eBay to buy can also do a simple Google search and come up with APMEX, Provdent, etc.

Just trying to figure out this behavior.

    Thanks

For the buyers, I'm not one, it is about convenience and lower shipping costs on small amounts. Som people don't have a wealth of options for LCS buying. One of my LCSs would be comparable to ebay on things like ASE and other bullion.
