I still recommend that all gold coins be authenticated even if you don't get it graded. The counterfeiting problem is going to get much worse before it gets better.

Yeah, I really meant harshly cleaned. Tell ya what, I'm going to post 2 sets of pics. You guys tell me if either set looks to have been harshly cleaned. Now maybe one has & maybe one hasn't, maybe both have, or maybe neither one has. Tell me what ya think.

I am not sure if it is the lighting in the bottom set, but the devices seem awfully white and the fields seem to have a lot of noise.
The cheek and neck on the obverse look pretty suspect and the overall color appears off.
That set seems to have been harshly cleaned.

The top set, at over 350 years old looks great to me. Color and lighting are uniform and seems to have a good eye appeal.

They are guesses only though, since the lighting makes it tricky to really evaluate the coins well.

with those pics I cant say (need bigger pics) I am also not familiar with the series but if I had to guess both of them have been cleaned its Europe so it would be a big surprise if it were not so but going by what is going on in the fields I would say harshly cleaned to both
