New Find 1848 H-10 Reverse Bisecting Die Crack & MPD?

    I looked with a loupe but can't be sure. I don't have a microscope like yours.

    You should see it with a loop very easy. 10x or 5x

    Not a large date, it's a"medium" date. Most "large" dates you see are actually medium dates. On the large date the date actually overlaps the base of the device.

    Yes correct their date is the variety. I meant to change that and forgot...to med date.
    However one must admit that does look huge compared to 1860 dates...they are so small and thin numerals. I believe this design for thinner smaller numbers was due to the fact lower mintages,and smaller dates could be relapsed , reworked, to accommodate the new year date. And mid 1860's saw mintages below 10,000 coins! But the entire series has some unreal changes in the evolution of this series designs.
