While coin roll hunting I came across this 1977 D DDO. And 2 days later found a 1982 D DDR. Haven't taken pics of my 82 yet but it's almost identical to the 77 in United except my 82 displays more doubling. What a find.
Welcome to Coin Talk. When posting photos of coins it's best to post clear pics of both side of the entire coin with closeups of the area(s) in question. It makes it easier for us to see what you have. Crop photos and when uploading photos click on full size and not thumbnail. Thank you. From what I can see from your photo, it's not a doubled die. More like Mechanical or Die deterioration Doubling. Post better photos and wait for the experts to give their opinion.
The correct numismatic terminology is Doubled Die.. Not double die. Your issue looks like MD - Mechanical Doubling. Considered worthless doubling.
Welcome to CT @Pennyw1se. There are a lot of web sites with helpful information about DD and worthless DD that you can look up for help. This is a good one: http://www.doubleddie.com. Click on Doubled Dies and Worthless Doubling and read the information.
You should alway post a full view of obverse and reverse !! There might be more there than you can see.
Yes and no.. If in your mind you are thinking double die obverse and double die reverse then you're wrong. If you are thinking doubled die obverse and doubled die reverse then you're right!
A bunch of photos does no good You first need full and complete photos of Both the Front/Obverse and Rear/reverse. One photo each of the complete coin. Not parts of it. There are many times when the opposite side can help explain something on one side.
I realized that I posted the wrong coin The one that I posted is my 1970 which I thought was doubled on the date which turned out to be Ma Check it out. Just posted a 1960 D RPMM.
