@Rick Stachowski , @Paddy54 , @TypeCoin971793 David Poliquin contacted me to record the finding in his web book. I took larger pics and emailed them to him directly. Pretty neat! Shout out to Rick in particular, who confirmed my suspicion that the coin might be a new discovery (since neither he nor I could find a reference). Here's the coin and the link: http://indiancentvarieties.com.fqdns.net/1879_variety008.html
@C-B-D When i first seen your post like always I checked my references. As well on line websites.. When i came up with nada....I suspected it was a new find. Congrats ...It's just knowing what to look for and where to find the answers. I'm still waiting on my 1873 reverse dot to get attributed to being my find.
Nice looking coin. Congrats on the new discovery. Starting above the "R" at the rim and continuing to the "A" in America it looks like a die crack. It looks raised but I loose focus when I try to enlarge it. Is that a die crack or a stain?
@C-B-D Whom do I need send these images to to get attribution on this new 1876 dot IHC? Notice the dot after the O in One Cent
Try David Poliquin, I suppose. His email address is at the bottom of the For Sale section on his webpage.
Ok thanks Russell Doughty was supposed to have done it for me and I never heard back or has he posted here lately...well quite some time now. I also have an 1867 that is a new find will post later.
I have an 1863 IHC with die cracks I can't seem to find in Poliquin's catalog. I'll email him about it.
