This had me laughing-out-loud. Thanks for sharing. I could not imagine spending money with Harry Potter on the coin. :smile
Yes its from PEI, and should say "ships colonies & commerce" -which were the 3 British advantages according to Napoleon, on the reverse. probably worth between $5-$15. And because my avatar is so inadequate
I'm going to end my contest a week early. I think I set too long a period of time for the contest to run. Anyone interested has till 5 PM eastern today to post their favorite ship coin and some information about it. Thanks for playing and Good Luck!
Just thought I would toss this medal in. Dont really know anything about it other than what is stated on it. But its cool looking.
And the winners are... The contest is officially over. Congrats to everyone who posted a picture - you win. Just PM me the address you would like the coin sent to and I'll get them out. Thank you very much for sharing your favorite coin with a ship on it and a special thanks to Vercingetorix for the good humor to go with it...:smile Best Regards, Darryl
One for a YN Jim M. has offered his coin to a YN Young numismatists with in the forum. The first YN to respond to this post gets the coin. Post first, then PM me the address you would like the coin sent to. Cheers to Jim for the kind gesture! :thumb: Darryl
darryl, thanks so much for holding the contest! who knew that the nautical and the numismatic were so closely intertwined? V.
Darryl, i see that you live in pittsburgh and i was wondering if there are any good coin shops in pittsburgh i go there often and my dad knows the city pretty well so if you know of any could you pm me or email me and tell me where they are it would be greatly appriciated thanks steve
Steve, I'm afraid I am just getting started collecting and have very limited experience with dealers in this area. I will email the two I know of but unfortunatly I can tell you little about them good or bad. Maybe some others are familure with Pittsburgh dealers and can recommend someone they trust. There seems to be a big community of coin collecrtors here but I have not met many of them yet. I'll send your coin out tomorrow, congrats and be sure to thank Jim M. next time you see him on line. Best Regards Darryl
Steve, I couldn't agree more - I am really happy to see some of the other coins people have and that they enjoy. Thanks again to everyone who posted!!! :high5: Darryl

Steve, You are quite welcome! Good luck with collecting and learning about the hobby! Best Regards Darryl
