Anybody want to take a shot at the variety on the coin? It should be pretty easy and is a early die state. Scratches and all I had to have this puppy. When I saw the coin I new what it was, this was one of those varieties I never expected to have. I have not seen this variety listed this cheap - I have seen worse listed at twice what I paid. So Mark is a happy camper. Hey Clembo - what do you think of the 2 cent piece? This is the first one they have had (and yes I always look) that had the look that I like. And then just a plain old buffalo.
All nice coins Mark!!!!!!!! First thought was the two cent was cleaned, after zooming in not so sure. The 1806 is breathtaking!
It's a O-101/2/3/4. I don't have pics of any of them so I don't know which. :kewl: Sweet DBH! :thumb: Is it in route to me yet? Ribbit
Yep - not sure of the breen number and O-111 is the overton number. Toad - you can use coinzip.com for pictures and of course you would see this one now.
All good stuff ! Congrats ! For those who like busties*, the 50c denomination is the best value. Higher mintage -> more survivors -> lower price. Are 2c copper ? I thought they were bronze... * and who doesn't ?
I hadn't had my coffee yet. :goofer: I just noticed the ones I posted are the 1806/5 overdates and the O-111 was at the bottom of the page and I didn't scroll down far enough to see it. :kewl: I saw the word Overdate and didn't see anything else. Maybe I should take my sunglasses off? I really need to learn not to type before coffee. :goof: Ribbit
I like em all Mark. Pics kind of small for my lousy eyesight but looks to me like that 2 Cent has a pretty solid strike. I have noticed over the years that 1867 had a lot of weakly struck obverses. I still tend to pick them up if I see a good strike (like I need more). In short. You done good!
I've always liked two-centers. When I was a kid, we used to hit a restaurant in Galveston named the Golden Greek. Off the dining room, they had a gift shop. Mostly beach touristy stuff. But they also had a little case with some coins, and therein a 2c always gazed up at me longingly. "Take me home !" it said. "Please ?"
Beaware I attribute it incorrect - it is a O-112, they set me straight on coinzip. So while I hate making mistakes like this, it turns out this is a R-4 coin versus R-3.
If it's a O-112 then it's not a 1806/9 (as per CoinFacts)? It sure looks like an overdate to me. :kewl: Ribbit :goofer:
