As a capped bust quarter collecter, I was very excited when the NGC app on my phone notified me that a third die marriage for 1822 quarters had been found. The marriage pairs the obverse die used for the other two 1822 marriages and the reverse die used for the 1823/2 (and later dated) quarters. Yea I saw that pop up as well. Exciting news for the series. I've often wondered if the years with one or two varieties have gotten overlooked, and here's the perfect example.
I heard about that. Proof that there are still cool things to discover, even on as well studied series as early US quarters.
