[QUOTE="SRSNUM, post: 6315822, member: 102988"]A description and images of a New Brunswick 1 cent 1864 follows: OBVERSE DIAGNOSTICS: THE 'C' IN 'VICTORIA' IS SLIGHTLY DOUBLED, MOST NOTICEABLY AT THE UPPER AND LOWER SERIFS. THE 'G' OF 'D:G' IS SLIGHTLY DOUBLED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE UPPER SERIF;IT IS ALSO DOUBLED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LOWER SERIF AND THE INSIDE BOTTOM OF THE LOOP. A DIE CRACK IS NOTED EMERGING FROM A DENTICLE ABOVE AND TO THE LEFT OF THE UPPER LEFT SERIF OF THE 'D' IN 'F:'D'. IT CONTINUES RADIALLY AND TERMINATES IN THE FIELD BEFORE REACHING THE HAIR RIBBON. REVERSE DIAGNOSTICS: THE 'S' IN 'BRUNSWICK' IS INCOMPLETE. THE 'N' IN 'ONE' IS INCOMPLETELY STRUCK UP. THE RESULTING WEAKNESS IS EXHIBITED IN THE UPPER 3/4 OF THE LETTER. THE '6' IN THE DATE APPEARS TO BE DOUBLED. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SMALL '6' REPUNCHED OVER A TALL '6'. THE '8' IN THE DATE IS SLIGHTLY DOUBLED AT THE INSIDE LOWER RIGHT OF THE UPPER LOOP. BELOW THE '6' IN THE DATE AT THE INNER CIRCLE, A 'DENTICLE' IS MISSING ITS UPPERMOST PART. Is this a known variety? All comments welcome.
