I have been concentrating on ancients lately, but still have my eye out for classic U.S. coins. I could not pass this one up. It is a beauty (in my eyes). In decent condition for a 192 yr old coin, only a few small dings and the ever present copper crud. 1826 Half Cent (Cohen 1, which is the most common variety). It also has a die rotation of about 10% (not really shown in these photos as I took them with the sides correctly orientated). Not uncommon but a little added bonus.

Nice coin. I would go with a lower ISO and add more lighting.

I love half cents, they are the history of America. It is also a good way to get new collector's started. Some are fascinated because of how big the silver dollar is and how the us made a half cent, large cent, 2 cent piece, 3 cent piece, and 20 cent pieces.
does not belong to me, but cool example.
