New 1776-2026 Trump $1 coin

    I'm kind of the same mind. I don't think it should exist, but if it does I want one, because for better or worse, it is a piece of history.

    I wasn't old enough to know what was going on during our 200th anniversary and only started collecting stuff commemorating it after the fact. I'm "all in" on anything commemorating the 250th that isn't ridiculously priced. I just consider this coin part of that.

    I'm seriously thinking about putting one in my presidential dollar album until such time, if it ever happens, a "real" Trump presidential dollar is made.

    I wonder if there was nearly as much controversy over Calvin Coolidge being on a coin back in 1926 (probably not). My understanding is Coolidge himself was against the idea, and had to be begrudgingly talked into it.

    In theory I suppose so but it would have to go through Congress. Considering their reaction to the proposed $250 bill I doubt such a thing would pass.
