Im indifferent with the new design in all honesty. Dont love it but dont hate it. All our currency needs a overhaul in general. I miss the beauty in coins and notes.
I don't understand why they don't change the size of the bills as they redesign them. This has been a major complaint from visually impaired people for a long time. By having different sizes, blind people can still tell what bills they have by touch instead of depending on other people to tell them.
All of the notes are being overhauled, that's what THIS is! The beauty is not as aesthetic as it once was, it is now technically sophisticated beauty we behold... it always was in security engraving, but that is more removed of a process and the factors of forgery are also multiplied. I think this has a beauty of its own that collectors are slow to realize in generalized first impressions but in time will come to understand the complexity and prowess of what it takes and what goes into creating these notes. :thumb:
They don't have to change the size but might also opt for woven textures, additional materials bonded to the paper fibers or braille! Why change the size when most tills, banks and presses already are in place, standardized and set up for print runs of paper notes of this scale.
The verdict is out on this one still. I'll have to let it simmer a bit before I decide if I like it. Probably have to have one in hand too.
