If they wanted to make "special" bills, they could use overprints (like Hawaii notes) and/or serial number/seal color changes, that would not alter the basic design. That would be inexpensive, IMHO.
If they wanted to make special 1, 2, and 5 dollar notes for sale to collectors this would be the way to do it. The idea of redesigning these low denomination notes just to create something to sell o collectors would not be cost effective. I don't think you understand just how much it would cost to create the design and engrave the new master plate. It makes sense when you are doing it for a production note that will be reproduced in 100's of millions of copies but not to produce a couple hundred thousand notes for collectors. A new plate requires the work of a dozen or more high trained and well paid engravers and would take close to a year to create. A new coin design probably costs 30 to 60 thousand dollars to create. A new currency design probably costs close to a million.
Україна is the Ukraine, and Америці is America. My Greek isn't good enough to allow me to translate the city names from the Cyrillic alphabet, which is related to the Greek alphabet (and so I'm not sure if he's talking in Ukrainian or Russian, which are related, but not identical languages). To be fair, I recognized Україна from a couple of Ukrainian coins I got from a former co-worker who taught me a few words in Russian (probably few of which are appropriate for a pastor to say). I believe Krasnaya is also a form of the word "red," although I could be mistaken. It's been 7 years since I worked with that guy.
ten dollars new note march 2 ,2006 is the releasing date for the u.s. ten dollars new design note. hope to get one soon.
ten dollars note i think the ten dollars new design is the best and the most beautiful note for u.s. current issues.
u.s. $10.00 bill the ten dollars bill will come out on march this year. its designed is amazing. hopefully i will one one of the first person to get it.
ten dollars note by the way, i read that a paper note can be folded 4,000 times before it will be damaged. wow. it is made of cotton and some other materials.
Well, I suppose it depends on what you call "damage" and what you want the note for. In most cases, a note that had been folded 4000 times would be worthless as a collectible, but I suppose it may be recognizable enough to go buy yourself some Fruit Loops and Cracker Jacks. :eating:
got it today today i withdraw money from my bank and it came out two crisp uncirculated new ten dollars bill. now i have to keep those two ten dollars. hopefully i won't see another new one. or else i will keep it again. i need money for other things.
the federal reserve banks should withdraw all old paper notes from the circulation. the purpose is to eliminate all fake dollars and the current circulation notes will be uniformity into one design for each denomination. that it should be.
what are you talking about elaine? they already do what you propose any note older then 1995 that passes through their scanners, is rejected and shredded. I dont think they could possibly take every note older then say 2004, and shred all those.. how would they keep up with demand.
you have mentioned 1995 and before. that's means the one older before the new designs came out are still good. that mean no sense that they are countering the fake money. they should have withdraw all the old designs immediately.
