Juliana the Queen. 10 gulden 1970, silver .720, weight - 25 g., size - 38 mm, mintage - 5910000. "25th Anniversary of Liberation".
Ah, the "dubbeltje" (10 cent coin) I remember well. I always liked that tiny piece ... By the way, on most Dutch coins you will see the caduceus which is the mintmark of the Utrecht mint. The second symbol is that of the mintmaster. Christian
The Beatrix designs aren't that good, and the commems from her reign aren't all that great either. When the Euro came along, I was hoping that they would improve but they didn't. Granted, it's better than Denmark's "wicked witch of the north" design (really ugly that), but I hope when they finally have a king, it'll look good.
My new purchase. 2 1/2 gulden 1960, silver .720, weight - 15 g., mintage - 12800000. Juliana the Queen.
The commemoratives of Juliana were cheap, but those of Beatrix were horribly expensive. The best portrait of her is the netherlands antillies coins. I don't like her regular portrait very much.
nice set hans, i search for ages to get the 2 1/2 cent coin to complete my set and finally found it 4 weeks ago for 10 pence, after 3 years of searching.
Excellent condition on the 1732 Hollandia 2 stuivers. Very nice! I have a modest collection of Netherlands coins, these are my three favorites... Hard to choose just three.
