I understand the only provincial mints to depict Claudius during the reign of Nero were Antioch, the uncertain mint nearby which people seem to take as Seleucia Pieria, and Caesarea Cappadocia. Were these coins struck in memory of some now-forgotten Claudian <i>liberalitas</i> bestowed on these cities?&nbsp; I note the emphasis on Claudius in the obverse legend as well: Nero <i>Claudius</i> Caesar, <i>son of the divine Claudius</i>.[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
