I thought I would post this just as a reminder to people. When buying ancients don't blindly trust the seller, they also make mistakes, Know your subject and do your own research. The following Nero As appeared on a well known reputable coin sales venue. It was described as ""FDC, one of the finest known" and had a very healthy proce tag of around $6,000 or around £4,000. This is an artificially aged modern fake. Struck from modern dies created by Lipanoff. The seller immediately removed the coin from sale when informed. This thread is not about the seller, who apart from not knowing enough about the coin behaved as I would expect a professional dealer to behave. If someone had bought it and later found out it was a fake they would have had a refund but there is still a cost behind doing this. Your money should have bought something else. It took me about a heartbeat to spot it as a fake. Others might not have questioned it because they trust the seller or the venue. I guess what I am trying to say is. Be careful out there. One way of doing this is to know you subject and do your research. Martin
