Which is what YOU think the seller will do. And you know what they say about assumptions...right?
Face it...someone won a coin for less than melt. It doesn't matter if the auction is "happening right now", the fact is that it did happen, and that is evidence against your "no bargains on ebay" claim.

no. you have not proven anything. if the seller refunds the money then it is the same thing as the (bargin) never happening. by the way, in 2011 i found a few items that were priced below market price in buy it now on ebay. i bought the items and i was quickly refunded by the sellers, they said that they (could not find the items). just as i had expected they would say.

You are just assuming again! You say I have not proven anything, yet you cannot prove that the seller will issue a refund. Therefore, without your proof that a refund was indeed issued, the transaction stands as being completed.

you and the others on here have not had any problem with making assumptions about me since i joined cointalk. you seem to think that by manipulating words you can somehow change facts, that is not how things work. even if you win arguments with those tactics and by being popular with others, that still does not mean that you are right. i guess your freinds on here will never tell you that. if nobody agrees with me, does that make my statements any less valid.

no. you have to prove that you received the coin for that price.

Jeff, like I said... case by case basis. The case you present is totally different than someone misgrading a coin. What you describe warrants negative feedback, no questions asked. The seller is a weasel, and trying manipulate his auctions because he thinks he should be receiving more money is wrong and in violation of eBay policy. In fact, what he's done warrants a NARU if you ask me.

Your poor search skills do not make me a liar.

Please follow these links quickly, as the auctions closed some time ago, and eBay only retains closed auctions for a certain number of weeks.

    The auction I "won", at $24.99 (130962547876):

Mercury head dime FRHIPPING NO RESERVE !!!!

The re-listing of that auction, at $29.99 (130964080927):

    Mercury Head Dime 1916-1945

The seller's feedback, showing positive feedback for the second auction (130964080927):

    Feedback for muff75

The photo of the dime album:

As other posters have hinted, the fact that a "sold auction" shows up with a low price doesn't prove that an item changed hands at that price. When you see positive feedback for the auction, though, and that feedback actually says "nice item" or "as described", it's a strong indication that the transaction actually happened.

why do you think that i have poor searching skills? it was me who said that just because an item is sold does not mean that the item was sent to the buyer for that price. and i did not hint about it, i said it very clear. i checked the feedback that you left for the book of dimes, however, i did not see that feedback anywhere in your feedback left for others, only on the sellers feedback. i looked at some of your items for sale and i did not like the way that you describe some of the items.

Okay, I've read enough without responding to your unsubstantiated position.

I've built a pretty decent business, with a significant portion of the profits coming from favorable eBay purchases. the only reason I can think of that you are coming up so short of gratifying results is because there's too. Much competition for the items you seek, or because you're just trying to buy way toooo cheap.

If you search at the right time of day, the right days of the week, have multiple targeted purchases and have realistic price expectations, it's really hard to not buy anything.

I spend an awful lot of time searching too . . . if you don't do the same, Murphy's Law guarantees you'll miss all the deals.

    LOL!

Let me go through this one more time for you, s l o w l y.

I "bought" the lot of dimes at $24.99. I never received it. I haven't yet left feedback for that auction.

Another buyer bought the lot at $29.99, and apparently received it. That buyer left feedback.

I'm guessing you're looking at that buyer's items for sale; my last eBay sale was well over a year ago.

okay, however, there is still the question of why the buyer of the $29.99 item left feedback for the seller and yet that same feedback does not show up in the buyers feedback left for others list. and why not leave feedback for the $24.99 item if you were able to get such a good bargin on the coins?

i have already said that i have spent too much time searching on ebay in the past. i am not going to keep repeating that just because some of you did not read my posts about that. i have probably spent more time than most searching for bargins.
