my name is Tim I was coin roll hunting today when I found a 1968 penny has doubblin of the face neck mouth . I was wondering if someone can take a look at the attachments if you could give me some kind of info about the coin price wise and what variety it is thank you very much
Not a variety. Very common machine doubling. Happens when the dies loosen a bit while striking. This causes a vibration with the die when it struck your coin. Have a look at this site: http://www.error-ref.com/machine-doubling/
Well thank you very much for the input I'm in Rhode island and sometimes the bank will sell me $25 boxes of pennies so I searched through it that was the first time I seen something like that and I don't know much about the doubling that's why I figured I would ask and yes I know doubling is a simple word but when you speak into a phone instead of typing it spells what it wants to
just got back this coin from PCGS yesterday sent it out 2 weeks ago not a bad grade found this in coin roll hunting as well
