Need some help on old coins

Pretty sure it's the real deal. The coin has been past down from generations and whatnot from old family members. Got it from my dad who got it from my grandfather who might have gotten it from god only knows who. Definitely not saying you're wrong, you most likely know a lot more than I do about it. What makes it look counterfeit and what kind of place can I take it to to tell? If so, I'm going to use it on an unsuspecting 7-11 employee to refill my Big Gulp, haha. Let me know, thanks.
