Welcome to CT!! Do you have close up photos of the coins? This would help out a lot. You can post them right to this thread. No need to email anyone. You can get them graded by sending them to PCGS, NGC, or ANACS. This can be pricey so you want to make sure you actually have the DDO first.
Unfortunately none of the coins pictured are the DDO-001 It will be very obvious when you do find one. Take a look at this link. http://doubleddie.com/314201.html Keep on searching! Mont.
Are you serious? Oh, you didn't understand that? It wasn't grammatically correct? Let me rephrase it in Millennial, "R U serious?" There, is that better?
That's one heck of a way to show them, too, Claw. That's what gets me. He's asking a thousand dollar question and he can't even get these things right-side up. I'm sorry, but they have to be told sometime.
There were approximately 500,000,000 cents made at that mint , that year. Less than 50 have been found in total , and most were found before 1972, mostly the western states, but even if not, the odds have been about 1 in 10 million chances. About equal to the $1,000,000 prize in the Powerball lottery. Today the chances of a random find being one is probably much , much less. The chance of getting struck by lightening this year is only 1 in a million. Yes, they are very valuable, yes people have found them, but so far on the forum no one has shown their actual find that was authenticated. So enjoy collecting for the pleasure , as otherwise one will make more financially, by checking the Coinstar machines in their area. Sure I would like to find one also but.... , Jim
