The raised proto-rims from the upsetting of the planchet will be present, but not the rims like you see on a finished coin. That is a good way to tell a severe grease filled die strike from a die adjustment strike. On the grease strike that is extra material between the dies, so even though the coin details do not strike up the rims are fully formed. On a die adjustment strike they will be weak or nonexistent.

Is Meow your cat's name? I have a cat that I picked up off the street on Christmas day. The cat was a kitten and only a couple of weeks old and was trying to cross the road. I had the intention of finding a home, but that never surfaced. I thought the kitten was a female and name the kitten, "Honey" which is the name on the kitten's birth certificate at the Vet. When we took the kitten to the Vet for the shots, I was surprised to find out the kitten was a male. My wife calls the now, cat, Salvatore and I still call the cat Honey. Only one of our 5 dogs will have anything to do with Honey. Honey lives in my "office" and has a bed right behind my chair.
I'm sure this is the wrong place to say this, but my cat watches me with my coin collection. Thanks to all of you. You are a great help to all.
