Look up scannerguy1968 , he has a test garden that he does extensive testing with and you will learn a lot. In my area where I live there are very old areas but they have been well searched through the years or they are littered with tons of bottle caps, pulltabs etc. So in my situation I had to invest in a detector that could go deeper and be able to unmask those good signals that are basically unreadable.
