Dillan, if you wan't a very deep detector for not a lot of money, I would recommend the Tesoro Tejon. I have found coins as deep as 15" down where most detectors struggle to go past 8 inches. The reasons I am suggesting this one is #1 the price. They cost $600. USD new and it comes with a lifetime warranty, it is also a very lightweight well built detector.. If you want a high end deeper detector that can easily find a nickle at 18 inches plus I would recommend the Garrett ATX. This is a Pulse detector that gives two types of signals. A high tone and a low tone for ferrous and non ferrous. This machine will set you back around $2500. USD. But the Garrett is better where there is not a lot of junk because you will find every bit of ferrous and non ferrous in the ground. If you want a good all around detector but not as deep as the Tejon but the best for trashy areas, the XP DEUS at a cost of $1500., or the Minelab CTX 3030 at a cost of $2500. Another excellent detector not as deep as the Tejon but loaded with a lot of nice programs is the Whites V3i. It has excellent discrimination as well. And the reason I recommend this one is that it is a $1200. plus detector that you can find used for a good bargain around $700. You see a lot of people do not like all the features that the White offers, they jusy want a turn on and go detector, so they end up taking a loss on them. I have all of these detectors and from my experience this I my recommendations. Hope this helps. Bill
