Need help with this 1980 D penny.

    At first glance I thought maybe it was a lamination fold over before strike, as seen in the screen shot photo, but it also looks like moved metal, or PMD in spots.     That is not a Lamination. That looks more like old dried adhesive on the surface.

    I thought so to, so I soaked it in acetone over night. Looks the same as before. All in all it is one ugly coin.

    It doesn't look anything like a lamination. It looks like some sort of residue, especially on the reverse. Acetone doesn't work on every type of organic material. Try xylene or another nonpolar solvent.
