Hey all. I'm pretty comfy with many series of U.S. coins, but wanted to ATTEMPT to start up a strictly Scottish set. My Dad is of Scottish ancestry, and thought I'd try to put something together for him (he just retired, maybe I can get him into the hobby to kill some time, and stop thinking about killing my mom [a joke...for now...lol], as she just retired too, so.....lol).

I have NO clue as to ANYTHING related to Scotland, except that Edinburgh is it's capitol and it's close in proximity to England and Ireland. So, that'll tell you I'm totally void of numismatic knowledge for that country. Any help with suggested books/articles, dealers...are these coins heavily counterfeited....anything to get me going so I can make educated decisions when it comes time to purchase would be greatly appreciated. I understand something like this will require more than just reading a grade on a slab and looking to see if I agree with the grade, as I'd imagine most are raw, requiring much more knowledge. Feel free to add comments here, or message me. Thanks in advance, all!!!
